Give Rugby A Try
"When you pull on a Preston Lodge jersey before a match, there's an excitement that builds inside, knowing that you are a part of something bigger than one individual. It's about being a part of an ongoing club story, and representing every club member and loyal spectator at the sharp end, on the rugby pitch. Because that's what rugby is all about.
In that moment, it's not about you any more; it's about 'us', the team. It's about the players round you, each one will put in tackles, work hard, get knocked down but get up and keep trying, all in the name of sport. It certainly isn't just a game, and it's more than just taking part. And at the final whistle, regardless of the result, you are a part of a team who have shared the pride and the passion, and because of that you have grown just a little bit, and have tasted life more fully because of it.
I still get the same feelings when I play for Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland, but I will never forget the tremendous time I had playing for the Minis, school and the senior team at Preston Lodge."

Allan Jacobsen 12 Scotland Caps.
Does this sound like your kind of thing?
We run three senior teams and various age-group teams from primary school up to Under-18s, and if you, or your children, would like to try it then we'd be only to happy to give you that opportunity.
Perhaps you used to play, and fancy getting back into rugby again. Or maybe you've never touched a rugby ball but you'd like to give it a shot. Whatever your background or experience, you are welcome to come along and Give Rugby A Try!
Alternatively you could be a volunteer.

Without club administrators, committee members, ground staff, physios, minibus drivers, to name a few, rugby would not be the amazing game it is. You don't have to be 'sporty' to be a rugby volunteer because there are opportunities for everyone to give time. Whatever skills you can offer - be itorganising fixtures, promoting the club, raising funds, improving facilities, or anything else - your local club would be delighted to welcome you.
Preston Lodge Rugby Club is here to support you in your volunteer experience. To encourage a sense of purpose and enjoyment. By doing this together we can help establish the next generation of Scott Murrays or Frank Haddens and develop sustainable club rugby.
Or why not try our coaching.

We have a number of coaching opportunities whether it be with the Minis, the school, the under 16, the colts (under 18) or in senior rugby. Anybody can coach but to be an effective coach you will need to fulfil a number of different roles and accept a variety of responsibilities. You will also need a good understanding of the coaching process and how to apply it so that you adopt a player-centered approach at all times.
This may seem a bit daunting and you cannot expect to be a expert coach overnight.
However Prerston Lodge Rugby Club and our Club Development Officer Andrew Clark are well equipped to help you through the process of becoming an effective coach. Preston Lodge Rugby Club is committed to ensuring that all coaches from Mini to senior level are well-supported and capable of providing an enjoyable experience for all participants. We will ensure that you attend the appropriate UKCC / SRU training courses, provide you with mentoring and guidance and the Club Development Officer will organise and deliver regular coaching updates to improve your skills.
