Preston Lodge High School and Preston Lodge Rugby Club are working in partnership to provide opportunities for rugby and health development for all children that attend Preston Lodge.

P.L.H.S. RUGBY FIXTURES 2007 – 2008

In season 2006 / 2007 Preston Lodge High School have fielded three teams at S1, S2 and at under 16.  All three teams have been very successful competing against schools for all over the Edinburgh and Lothian’s area.

Preston Lodge Rugby Club have prepared a Club Development Plan and an action plan, which sets out a vision for the future of youth rugby creating a clear rugby path for all children from Primary 1 to senior rugby.  This allows all children in the Preston Lodge cluster area to play mini rugby from Primary one to Primary seven at Preston Lodge Rugby Club. Boys would then play S1, S2 and S3 rugby at Preston Lodge High School, and thereafter play under 16 and under 18 rugby with Preston Lodge Rugby Club, prior to senior rugby.

Preston Lodge Rugby Club have also been working with the SRU Regional Development Manager to afford secondary school girls the opportunity to participate in rugby after primary school.

The recruitment of Andrew Clark as Club Development Officer has been central to achieving the ambitious goals outlined and delivering the objectives set in this development plan. (can you add a link to a word document for both)

Andrew has been working hard with young people in school, where he currently assists in core P.E. lessons and also after school at extra curriculum rugby coaching.  Preston Lodge Rugby Club have been strongly supported by staff at Preston Lodge High School and we would like to thank Mr Galbraith, Pauline Christie, Chris Thomas and Mathew Mullen for all their help and support.

Preston Lodge High School has produced a number of talented players with ex-players Scott Murray and Alan Jacobsen having achieved International honours. The structure is now in place to produce another Scott or Chunk so why don’t you give it a TRY !!!!!

School rugby for S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and S6 is straight after school 3.45 – 5pm every Monday and Wednesday at the P.E. Department at Preston Lodge High School.
